Photo Margin Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Photo Margin is a local-first photo library organizer for iPhone. Your photos stay on your device, and you decide what to delete.

At a glance: No login is required. We do not upload your photos or videos or send your photo library contents to our servers.

1. Photo library access

With your permission, Photo Margin uses Apple's PhotoKit to read library assets on your device and identify screenshots, photos, videos, large videos, exact duplicates, and conservative suggestions for similar photos. Each scan covers up to the 120 most recent accessible assets. The app shows its access status, scan scope, and results.

2. What we do not collect

3. Local data

Scan results are processed on your device. Asset identifiers, review decisions, and scan-batch records are stored locally to restore review progress. “Clear local review records” resets review decisions. It does not delete photos or videos from the system library or erase all local storage. Apple may manage device backups according to your system settings.

4. Deletion

Photo Margin never deletes automatically. Marked items are placed in a pending list. Only after you choose to delete does the app request deletion through the system photo library. iOS asks you to confirm. You can restore candidates before final confirmation.

5. Apple and other services

This version does not use photo-upload services, advertising SDKs, account services, or remote photo-analysis services. When an asset is stored in iCloud, PhotoKit may download it to display a thumbnail or play the content. This does not upload your library to our servers. Apple provides the App Store, iCloud, and PhotoKit under its own privacy policy.

Website access and support

This website does not use advertising tracking or analytics scripts. Our hosting provider receives your IP address when serving a page and may log the request path, time, and errors for delivery, security, and troubleshooting. Retention is managed by the hosting provider. Please do not include private photos, videos, or identity documents in URL parameters or support emails.

Support emails are used only to respond to questions, handle privacy requests, and follow up as needed. We delete them when the issue is resolved and retention is no longer necessary, unless otherwise required by law. Contact us below to request access to or deletion of your email information.

6. Children

Photo Margin does not proactively collect personal information. Parents or guardians should use device settings to decide whether to allow photo library access.

7. Changes

If our data-handling practices change, we will update this page and its date and provide notice through the app or App Store where needed.

8. Contact

The app and website are maintained by Bo Liu. For privacy questions or data requests, email qw_112233665@qq.com.
